Q. Will Ockham sponsor me if I file for my Permanent Residency Visa (“Green Card”)?
A. Yes. Ockham will sponsor your “Green Card” application.
Q. Can I file my application as soon as I start working for Ockham?
A. You can file anytime after three (3) months of employment with Ockham, provided you have a excellent performance record with our client.
Q. Can I use my own attorney or do I have to use Ockham’s law firm to file?
A. Because Ockham is paying for the initial step in the Green Card process – i.e., the labor certification, which includes: all advertising costs, attorney and filing fees – you will have to use our attorneys. Our law firm (Cheng, Cho & Yee) is a highly reputable firm and we have experienced many successful years of service for our employees.
Q. Do I contact them directly to start the filing process?
A.You should always contact your Recruiter or Business Development Manager
with any company-related questions. In this case, they will coordinate your
filing through the Employee Relations Director. Our law firm will have all your
information from filing for your H-1, but if further information is required, the firm
will contact you directly.
Q. Does Ockham pay all costs for my Green Card?
A.Not all costs. Ockham pays for the total cost of your H-1B Visa and for the labor
certification. Cost associated with filing your I-140 and I-485 is an expense
borne by yourself.
Q. How much will my costs be?
A.The costs are between you and the attorneys. Ockham has no control or
influence on their fees associated with this stage of the process.
